Over 50 Years of History

In 1954, as a way to provide for his family, Bob Bolin purchased his first Shell Service Station on Florissant Road in St. Louis.

In 1959, Bob opened his second Shell Station on Highway 19 (now Highway 367) and Chambers Road. This station became the first in St. Louis to pump one million gallons per year.

In 1964, there was another update in the business. It brought another change that would shape the future of Bolin Services Incorporated. Bob sold the Shell Station on Florissant Road and opened Bob Bolin Automotive Service on Highway 67 (North Lindbergh) then just a two lane road. A full service automotive repair, towing, and one of the first locations to install air conditioning in vehicles, Bob Bolin Automotive, was also the start of the towing and recovery business on a larger scale.

In 1969, the decision was made to quit pumping gas. Bob sold the Shell Station at Highway 367 and Chambers, and with 12 trucks began towing and recovery full time. In 1979, as a side bar to the business, Bob Bolin Automotive started selling Century wreckers, and continued to do this until 1989. That year, the name of the company was changed to Bob Bolin Services.

Joined by his sons Mike and Greg, and his daughter Nancy, the business continued to grow and expand, by purchasing the present building in 1990. It also grew by adding tractor trailers and tandem axle flatbed units for equipment hauling.

Road One, a nationwide company, bought Bob Bolin Services and Bob retired in 1997. Mike Bolin took a position with Road One and Greg Bolin took over day-to-day operations of Bob Bolin Services. In 2002, Road One decided to get out of the towing business. Mike and Greg acquired the assets of Bob Bolin Services and a new chapter had begun.

After five decades of dedication to great service, Bolin Services, Incorporated., with Mike and Greg at the helm, continues to grow. We continue to take care of the transportation needs of the Midwest.
